From Internship to Impact: Learning Through Real Project Work

From Internship to Impact: Learning Through Real Project Work

August 1, 2024

Dear Reader,

In June, I began a two-month internship in Germany, where I joined Snow Leopard Projects GmbH in Reisbach to gain hands-on experience in the field of renewable energy.

As a Renewable Energy student at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco, this internship provided me with the opportunity to apply my academic knowledge in a real-world setting and to broaden my understanding of sustainable technologies.

In this report, I would like to share insights into my tasks, responsibilities, and the experiences that have shaped this enriching journey.

During my internship at Snow Leopard Projects GmbH, a company specializing in biogas plant projects, I contributed to a biogas project in Spain. My primary responsibilities involved comparing construction and material offers from various suppliers, focusing on cost, quality, durability, and suitability.

Drawing on my background in materials science and statics, I evaluated the structural integrity and longevity of materials and applied principles of fluid mechanics to assess their performance.

I also worked on technical equipment listings and energy requirement calculations, using electric circuit principles to determine peak consumption, power factors, and equipment compatibility. This involved organizing reports and calculations in Excel to support the project’s energy optimization.

Participating in team meetings with international sales managers provided valuable insights into construction standards and project requirements. Additionally, I assisted in designing a daily feeding schedule for the plant, coordinating equipment capacities to maximize operational efficiency.

This experience enhanced my understanding of project management in the biogas sector and strengthened my analytical and teamwork skills.

Acknowledgment:
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the team at Snow Leopard Projects GmbH for their support and guidance throughout my internship. Their mentorship and collaborative spirit greatly contributed to my learning experience and professional development in the biogas industry.
